In 1979 my job involved statistical analysis of manufacturing processes. That was the first time I ever looked closely at a computer-generated report and t caused me to ask questions. Like, "Why doesn't it calculate a percentage correctly?" So, I started to learn about bugs...and some other aspects of programming as well. I transferred to the company's engineering department -- the guys with the computers -- and it all followed from that.
Time passed. I discovered a fascination with computer languages...lots of them, and then more. About 1991 I first encountered object-oriented analysis, design, and programming. It felt like coming home: people could use the same words to describe different parts of the software development life cycle! Who could imagine?!!
These days I still live in an OO world, and enjoy working/playing with computers as much as ever.
